Bulldog sign I finished a few days ago for a friend of the family. I like how it came out.

Geek Love

So in English we were given a list of projects to do based on our independent reading book we just read. I picked the two life-sized cut-outs. My dad cut the wood out for me and I painted. The characters are Oly Binewski and the Binewski twins Ely and Iphy from Katherine Dunn's fantastic novel Geek Love. The characters are so complex; it really is an amazing read.

So these are the two (actually three)characters I chose to use. On the left is Olympia Binewski, an albino hunchback dwarf. She is the narrator of the book. On the right are the twins Elektra and Iphigenia(respectively), and they are conjoined at the hip and share two legs. It is quite interesting, everything that they share.

Elly and Iphy( not completed here) My dad later used his airbrush on the twins' cheeks.

Little Oly. My dad also used his airbrush to give her the tint of her glasses.

Bayou Betty

Sculpture I did in Art class. It is Betty Boop cajun style, straddling a gator and eating a beignet. Would have made her sexier but we entered her in TAAPS and they don't allow anything too revealing. In the end, she won a sticker that read: INAPPROPRIATE. The Pap and I are proud.
